Ode on Celestial Music

For: mixed choir, organ (or accordion), harp, percussion

Ode on Celestial Music was composed upon the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Nijmegen University Chamber choir Audite Nova.
The composition is inspired by and based upon the famous poem written by Brian Patten.
It tells the story of a man who despises profane music (I want only bona fide celestial music B.P.), but much later in life is being seduced by the beautiful singing of the girl downstairs (Turning my hearing aid full volume I bend close to the floorboards, hoping for at least one song to get through B.P.)
On the music preview you can hear excerpts of the premiere given on 24-11-2007 at the Nicolaikerk in Utrecht.

In 2013 I made a special version in which the organ is replaced by an accordion. Under the score preview you can see it!

The price of the score is including full score, vocal score (+ rights to make 40 copies) and parts.

Duration: 10’30” Price: € 91,50
