Glaswerk

Composed on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Dutch ‘Vereniging van Vrienden van Modern Glas’. (Society for friends of Modern Glass)
Although especially composed for the glass carillon made by Bernard Heesen, which stands in the city of Vleuten, this piece can be played by a normal carillon as well.

The first performance took place on 7 May 2011 by Boudewijn Zwart.

In this composition I combine the sounds of the glass bells of the carillon with the sounds glass artists make while producing their works of art (sounds of the oven, grains of glass, breaking glass, glass blowing, etc.) These sounds were manipulated in my studio and extended with sounds I produced from crystal wine glasses.
